Dear Mark, Maureen and Imogene, Since you asked at the last Dildine reunion about the origin of the Ralph Dildine/Cath Bernard Rose portraits, Mark, I have gone back through my files to see where the originals might lie. I came up with the letter which is attached below. Do any of you know any living contacts that are Weast descendants? Seems like if anyone still has the originals, it would be a Weast. Stella Weast married Leslie Floyd, lived in Modesto, and had 2 sons, Tom and Dick. I know nothing else of them, however. Ira Weast had a daughter Carol. Maureen, do you know if the Weasts are part of the 'other' Dildine reunion that you mentioned before?

Fondly, Sue

Dear Family,

Our ancestor, Ralph Dildine, and his brother, Joseph, were both honored in a tribute to Blackford County Civil War Soldiers at a ceremony held on October 14th. Orville Uggen, an organizer of the event, sent me certificates in the mail that would have been presented to me at the ceremony, if I had been able to attend. I thought you might be interested, so have scanned in Ralph's certificate, and attached it below. It reads: _ 17th Annual Blackford County Civil War Reenactment The Blackford County Civil War Reenactment and Living History Club, Inc. and the citizens of Blackford County present on the 14th of October 2006 this certificate to: Sue Zeni In honor of her great-great-grandfather Ralph Dildine Who served in Company C, 12th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment from December 12, 1864 to June 8, 1865 and Company D, 59th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment from June 8, 1865 to July 17, 1865 and in honor of all men from and buried in Blackford County who served in the Civil War from the years 1861 to 1865. Signed by Dennis Whitesell Mayor of Hartford City and Orville W. Uggen, Jr., Reenactment Club president Joseph Dildine's certificate is similar and says that he served in Company H 12th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment from May 15, 1861 to 1862 _

Hope all is well with you and yours.

Sue
