Dear Mother

After fourteen days liberty was in France, visited Baxters grave, which is in a neat little American cemetary at Bazaille France, near Neuf Cheatue France. Then I went to southern France, which is a very beautiful county, enjoyed my my trip and much less contented now than before going on pass.

Suppose Robert is home now, received a letter from him telling me he was on his way. I am likely to see more service yet, than he, I don't know when we are going home But I think will be this summer, guess we will be one of the first regular army divisions to go, being the 2nd division.

Mama I sent you $50.00 last Oct 19th through the Y.M.C.A. let me know whether you have received it or not. You ask me if I still herd from Zek [spelling not certain]. Yes, But she writes as though I never wrote I sent her a bunch of pictures, taken along the river, + post cards.

Mama what is Robert going to do Guess he can be contented at home for a while. Hoping to here from you soon.

Your Son Bennett Hicks TH CO 16 2ND dIV American EF Germany.

Got from Blossom Library. Text says: Jack Burns of 142 Plum Street, Paris, submitted this picture of Bennett Hicks and Bryan Moore riding through the streets of Blossom in a Moon buggy on a Sunday afternoon. Burns said that this buggy was ridden during Model T days, and that in the Moon buggy, he “could go where they couldn't.” he said the horse is a descendant of Dan Patch.
