“Aunt Em”; Davis, California. No children Dorothy Semke said story was Aunt Em came out to California on a covered wagon.

Phyllis Hicks memory: Ran a room & board house for college students in Davis. Tom Berry used ot sing a sing that ended “and the blood came down like rain.” Had a big feather bed and Phyllis couldn't stay there because of allergies. Uncle Tom died about 5-6 years before Amelia. Phil & Thelma took care of her after Uncle Tom died.
